About me
Hi, I'm Safia! I am a compassionate and dedicated birth and postpartum doula committed to walking alongside families through pregnancy, labor, birth, and the fourth trimester. I am the founder of Motherly Doula Care, providing culturally responsive, evidence-based, and heart-centered support to help families feel informed, confident, and empowered throughout their journey. My personal experiences with birthing 7 children — including cesarean births, VBACs, long labors, twin birth, and extended breastfeeding up to two years — have shaped my deep understanding and empathy for the birthing journey.
This combination of training and lived experience allows me to provide compassionate, comprehensive support to birthing individuals and families. I am intentional in addressing every aspect of the birthing person’s physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. My goal is to nurture a calm, empowering environment—removing fear and replacing it with knowledge, confidence, and reassurance. Above all, striving to ensure that each birthing person and family feels valued, heard, and supported through every stage: prenatal, birth, and postpartum. I believe every family deserves consistent emotional, physical, and informational support during one of the most transformative seasons of life.

Supporting From Pregnancy Through Postpartum
As a full-spectrum doula, I provide compassionate, trauma-informed support to mothers and families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum transition. My work has included supporting Medicaid-eligible families through community and hospital-based doula care, with a particular focus on families who may face barriers to accessing respectful, equitable, and supportive maternity care.
My experience as a community doula has allowed me to support families from diverse backgrounds and circumstances, meeting each client where they are and honoring their individual needs, values, culture, and birth goals. I provide emotional, physical, and informational support while helping families feel empowered to ask questions, understand their options, communicate their preferences, and participate confidently in their care.
I also bring experience supporting families within the hospital setting, where I work alongside healthcare professionals while maintaining the doula's role as a continuous source of non-clinical support. I understand how overwhelming the healthcare environment can feel, particularly for families who have experienced previous trauma, discrimination, loss, or difficult interactions within the medical system. My trauma-informed approach prioritizes safety, dignity, choice, trust, and respect.
My postpartum work has expanded my support beyond the birth experience. I help new parents navigate the transition into parenthood by providing practical and emotional support, newborn-care education, feeding and breastfeeding support, postpartum recovery education, and reassurance during those important early weeks.
At the heart of my work is the belief that every mother deserves to feel heard, respected, informed, and supported—regardless of her income, insurance status, background, or circumstances.
Through Motherly Doula Care, I strive to create a safe and supportive space where families can feel empowered throughout their entire journey from pregnancy to birth and beyond.
